Northwood offers 4 types of packages to meet the needs of its clients.

CONVENTIONAL CONSTRUCTION

This building method is based on the National Building Code. It can be adapted to the Novoclimat and Energy Star programs, which set the standards that will be integrated into the Code as of 2012. We are ready to meet these new energy efficiency standards.

STRUCTURAL INSULATED PANELS CONSTRUCTION

Structural insulated panels are an environmentally friendly construction option distributed exclusively by Northwood Country Homes throughout Ontario and Quebec.

All our custom house kits come with the structural insulated panel option. Ideal for self-builders, our panel systems provide great flexibility!

Why choose Northwood structural insulated panels?

Our panel systems save time and help builders avoid the trouble of hiring manpower. They are environmentally friendly. The panel system reduces waste and it has proven its worth from an energy efficiency standpoint.

POST AND BEAM CONSTRUCTION

For people who love wood, the post and beam method adds style and character to any design. There are two different types of post and beam construction: the traditional method uses the posts and beams in the building structure, while the hybrid timberframe method integrates non-structural post and beam elements.

Both methods involve integrating a kit containing massive beams to a conventional or insulated panel construction project. The kits lend a dramatic look to the rooms where they are used. We team up with our craftsman to design a house plan that integrates post and beam construction as a structural or decorative element of your home.

LOG HOUSE CONSTRUCTION

People often associate log homes with nature and a certain quality of life. There is something about them that could be described as ‘authentic’ or ‘solid’ and which just gets better with age. Whether you prefer Scandinavian scribed logs, milled logs or post and beam construction, wood is a beautiful, timeless material that adds warmth to any setting.

Materials for a milled log home can be available within weeks – much faster than for a Scandinavian-type home, and at a fraction of the cost.

Full scribe Scandinavian log homes take us back in time. Each house is unique, a work of art made by a craftsman using a noble material such as the white pine for which Canada is known all over the world.

For those who like the look of wood but would prefer a more conventional concept, we offer a range of products including wood siding and architectural details that can easily be integrated to conventional construction.
